LouderThanTen

‘Cause the Internet is for suckers like me.

Be Kind. Please Rewind.

It may have taken a couple months Paul, but you were absolutely right… This version of Louder Than Ten is far superior to the ”Black Bar” variation that has been live until tonight. I’ve rewound, and here’s why:

  • The black gradient bars were far too heavy.
  • The original stark, desaturated design is closer to my initial vision
  • This design is all about the grid and the typography. The extra visual elements devalue the whole concept.
  • Pretty is really not my goal here. I may work that in down the road, but not at the expense of my initial intentions of a clean and usable site.
  • I really like the starkness. It’s a contrast to the bubbly, vibrant sites more commonly found in interwebland these days (though I still love them).

This has been an interesting design for me. I tend to really love it, then get tired of it, and love it all over again. In any case, I’m publishing this and leaving it for a while. It serves its purpose, I like it, and it’s time to put some focus back on the other side projects I’m working on (more on that later).

meh!

the baseline’s off on your iTunes listing header and the site reaks of partyface colour?
